Position Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR Coordinator to support HR operations and workforce coordination across the organisation.

This role focuses on HR administration, staff support, and rostering coordination, with additional involvement in HR projects and student placement coordination.

It is ideal for someone with a solid HR foundation who enjoys hands-on coordination work in a fast-paced environment, and is keen to broaden their exposure across HR functions with ongoing support from the HR Manager.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

HR Operations & Staff Support

  • Provide HR administrative support across the employee lifecycle
  • Prepare employment contracts, letters, and HR documentation
  • Maintain HRIS, employee records, and personnel files
  • Act as a key point of contact for staff queries and provide day-to-day HR support
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, including Fair Work, WHS, and WorkCover requirements
  • Support general HR matters, including employee grievances and basic employee relations matters

 

Rostering & Workforce Coordination

  • Assist with staff rostering and scheduling to meet operational needs
  • Monitor workforce availability and adjust schedules accordingly
  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure appropriate shift coverage
  • Support workforce planning and daily coordination

 

HR Administration & Coordination

  • Coordinate day-to-day HR administrative tasks and documentation
  • Support scheduling of mandatory training (e.g. First Aid, CPR, Manual Handling)
  • Assist in maintaining training records and compliance documentation
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR team

 

HR Projects & Support

  • Contribute to HR-related projects, process improvements, and system updates
  • Assist with reporting, audits, and compliance activities
  • Support internal communications and employee engagement initiatives

 

Student Placement Coordination (Supporting Responsibility)

  • Coordinate student placements (e.g. PCWs and RNs)
  • Assist with placement scheduling, allocation, and rostering
  • Support post-placement onboarding processes, including documentation and compliance requirements
  • Act as a point of contact for students during placement
  • Ensure all placement records and documentation are accurately maintained

 

About You

Experience

  • Previous experience in HR, with at least 1-3+ year of hands-on experience in HR operations will be suitable for the role
  • Strong understanding of HR processes and the employee lifecycle
  • Experience in rostering, scheduling, or workforce coordination (highly desirable)
  • Experience in aged care, healthcare, or community services (preferred)

 

Skills & Attributes

  • Bilingual in both Chinese (Mandarin) and English, with strong communication skills
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive, adaptable, and hands-on approach
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office and willing to learn HR systems (e.g. Employment Hero)

Compliance Requirements

  • Valid working rights in Australia
  • Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
