About the Role
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Team Leader is responsible for coordinating and supervising daily warehouse operations, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of finished goods through the warehouse.
Based at our new Wangaratta warehouse facility, this role will play a key part in establishing strong operational practices, supervising our warehouse team and driving a culture of safety, quality, service and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising and coordinating daily warehouse operations, including finished goods movements
- Supporting the Warehouse team to achieve safety, quality and service expectations through effective leadership and communication
- Coordinating labour requirements, allocating resources and managing priorities to meet operational demands
- Providing coaching, training and support to Warehouse team members to build capability and engagement
- Championing workplace safety initiatives, conducting safety discussions and ensuring compliance with risk management processes, including Chain of Responsibility requirements
- Investigating safety incidents, implementing corrective actions and supporting continuous improvement in safety performance
- Managing inventory accuracy through stock control processes, cycle counts and annual stocktakes
- Supporting inbound logistics, including receipt, inspection, storage and rotation of goods in line with FIFO principles
- Monitoring quality standards and ensuring goods are handled and stored appropriately to minimise damage and waste
- Managing stakeholder requests and providing timely communication across production, customer service and other business functions
- Ensuring warehouse equipment and material handling assets are maintained and available to support operations
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, safety and quality outcomes
- Supporting other duties as required by the Warehouse team
Skills And Experiences
About you
The successful candidate will have proven experience within a warehouse, distribution centre or logistics environment, with demonstrated capability supervising teams and managing operational priorities. You will also have:
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and develop a diverse team
- Experience supervising warehouse operations, inventory control and logistics processes
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements, including Chain of Responsibility obligations
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships
- Experience with warehouse systems, inventory management processes and stock control principles
- Strong literacy, numeracy and computer skills, with the ability to accurately record data and analyse information
- Ability to drive continuous improvement and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste
- Current driver’s licence
- LF forklift licence preferred
- Relevant qualifications or experience in logistics, supply chain or warehouse operations desirable
