As a Trades Assistant / Labourer, you’ll work closely with our tradespeople in the fabrication division; preparing materials, assisting with welding and assembly tasks, maintaining safe and organised work areas, and helping the workshop operate smoothly day‑to‑day. If you enjoy hands‑on work, variety, and being part of a supportive team, you’ll thrive in this role.

About the role

You’ll support tradespeople with day‑to‑day workshop tasks across our fabrication facility. Every day will bring variety, hands‑on work, and plenty of teamwork.

You can expect to:

  • Prepare materials, tools, and equipment for welding and fabrication activities
  • Assist with basic workshop tasks such as cleaning, grinding, and handling components
  • Position parts for assembly and support tradespeople as directed
  • Maintain clean, safe, ready‑to‑use work areas
  • Operate and care for hand tools and equipment correctly
  • Communicate professionally with employees, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients
  • Provide information for daily diaries and complete documentation as require
  • Identify hazards and report unsafe conditions immediately
  • Assist with resolving onsite issues to keep work moving

What you’ll bring

  • Experience in a workshop, fabrication, construction or labouring environment (desirable)
  • Ability to use hand tools and follow safe work practices
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • White Card (required)
  • Silica Awareness and Asbestos Awareness (desirable)
  • Permanent working rights in Australia
