About the role and team

Come drive growth in a fast paced, dynamic business. This role is part of the Marketplace Operations team which tackles some of Australia and New Zealand's most complex problems. These problems involve tough strategic decisions, analytical rigour and close collaboration across Uber. For a tenacious truth seeker, looking to unlock the next wave of growth for all 3 sides of the marketplace, this is the team for you.

You will drive large-scale commercial outcomes while developing a comprehensive understanding of Uber Eats’ 3-sided marketplace (Consumers, Delivery People and Merchants). You will be responsible for setting strategy, optimising our consumer pricing levers, product rollouts and measuring and communicating impact with senior stakeholders. In doing so you will help millions of Australians and New Zealanders add time back in their day with delicious food and critical conveniences and provide earnings opportunities to hundreds of thousands more.

What you’ll do

  • Drive strategy and execution of consumer pricing for Uber Eats
  • Lead roll outs of global products, processes and programs in Australia
  • Build critical stakeholder relationships in local and global teams across a variety of the business lines including operations, product, sales, and finance to drive broader strategic initiatives
  • Take complex problems and break them down into actionable solutions, backed by data and insights, to drive meaningful improvement across the business.
  • Perform analysis to inform recommendations on key strategic questions, and present to senior stakeholders

Basic qualifications

  • Quantitative degree and a background in pricing strategy or other analytical role (e.g. finance or strategy consulting)
  • Analytics - experience dealing with complex data sets using Excel/Google Sheets and AI tools (SQL a plus), deriving insights, and synthesising data-backed recommendations
  • Problem solving - the ability to break down ambiguous problems by applying structure and using data-driven insights to solve them
  • Ownership and delivery - demonstrated ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, plan and prioritise workstreams across multiple projects and complete tasks with a high attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment

Preferred qualifications

  • Ideally, hold a bachelor or advanced degree in Business, Economics, Science, Engineering, Maths, or equivalent
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, analytics with AI, and competence in SQL (or strong willingness to learn)
  • Strong business acumen and ability to develop a deep understanding of complex business fundamentals & market dynamics
  • Ability to go deep on technical domains and translate key insights to leadership in a compelling and easy to understand way
