Senior Works Scheduler
Location: Sydney, NSW
Type: Permanent | Full-time
Salary: $145,000 package

About the Role

Our client is a major infrastructure services contractor delivering road asset maintenance and management programs across Sydney under a long-term performance contract with a NSW Government road authority.

This is a senior individual contributor role sitting at the centre of works delivery. The Senior Works Scheduler owns the end-to-end programming of maintenance works — from converting work requirements into executable schedules through to coordinating field delivery. Critically, this role carries responsibility for how work is sequenced and dispatched: decisions made here directly affect crew productivity, network disruption, and customer experience across Sydney's road network.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Forecasting and scheduling workloads across multiple maintenance work crews
  • Converting work requirements into realistic, resource-matched work orders that account for network impacts and customer experience
  • Planning and dispatching work allocations, managing competing work and customer requirements simultaneously
  • Liaising with field staff, work supervisors, operations centre staff, and the Customer and Stakeholder team to coordinate delivery
  • Building and maintaining working relationships with key TfNSW representatives, including the Traffic Management Centre
  • Managing all scheduling and administration requirements within the office
  • Reviewing existing scheduling processes and identifying improvements
  • Maintaining accurate electronic and hard copy records
  • Reporting incidents to the Customer Experience Manager in a timely manner

What You'll Need

Essential

  • Minimum 2–3 years in a similar works scheduling or programming role
  • Demonstrated experience scheduling maintenance works — this is the non-negotiable requirement for this role
  • Strong understanding of road network operations and the impact of maintenance activities on customers and traffic
  • Solid computer skills across Microsoft Office suite; Microsoft Project or equivalent scheduling software

Highly Regarded

  • Background in civil infrastructure or road construction
  • Familiarity with TfNSW performance contract delivery environments

Health, Safety & Culture

This is a business that operates to a high safety standard — you'll be expected to own that, not just comply with it. That means identifying hazards, adhering to all OH&S requirements and policies, promoting safe behaviours across the team, and reporting incidents promptly.
