  • Undertaking and leading allĀ facetsĀ of geotechnical investigation and design projectsĀ

WSP’s Geotechnical business consists of geotechnicalĀ engineers and engineering geologistsĀ whoĀ are involved in investigation, design and construction phase services for transport, water, mining, defence,Ā energyĀ and property projects across Australia.Ā Ā 

We are currently looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join ourĀ South AustralianĀ Geotechnical and TunnelsĀ team and play a pivotal roleĀ in developing and deliveringĀ innovative projects for our broad client base.Ā Ā 

As aĀ Senior GeotechnicalĀ EngineerĀ you’ll:Ā 

  • Lead geotechnical investigations with strong technical oversight.Ā 
  • Prepare geotechnical reports and provide design inputĀ 
  • Mentor junior engineers and support their professional growth.Ā 
  • Contribute to and/or lead proposals and tendersĀ 
  • Build trusted client relationships and deliver smart, value‑driven solutions.Ā 
  • IdentifyĀ and manage project risks across technicalĀ andĀ contractualĀ areas.Ā 
  • Produce clear, high‑quality technical reports and recommendations.Ā 
  • Be basedĀ inĀ our Adelaide office with flexibility and occasional travel, includingĀ remote andĀ interstate opportunitiesĀ 

Ā WhatĀ you’llĀ bring:Ā 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Geotechnical, or closely related discipline) or equivalent qualification.  
  • 5+Ā years’ experienceĀ in geotechnical investigation,Ā reportingĀ and designĀ 
  • Strong communicationĀ skills and confidence in client‑facing roles.Ā 
  • Experience mentoring junior team members.Ā 
  • Demonstrated ability to apply modelling software and/or analytical techniques (such as PLAXIS, FLAC, SLIDE, gINT, or similar) to solve complex geotechnical challenges.
