Senior Capital Project Manager – TAI Plant

Position Summary

The Senior Capital Project Manager, based at TAI plant, is responsible for leadership, planning, and execution of the critical Capital Projects at the TAI chemical manufacturing site. This role oversees the full project lifecycle—from concept development, Front-end study through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover—ensuring alignment with site strategy, regulatory requirements, and corporate engineering standards. The position requires strong engineering expertise, advanced project management capability, and the ability to lead complex, multi‑disciplinary projects in a chemical processing environment. Strong brown field project experience will be recommended.

The role also expected to act as Site Capital project leader to overlook whole TAI plant yearly capital project include planning and execution following Albemarle APP process. Report to APAC capital project director, manage capital team in TAI plant, Daily work with stakeholders to achieve yearly project tasks.

Key Accountabilities

As a Senior Project Manager in assigned project:

ü Project Leadership — Oversee full lifecycle of capital projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring technical, financial, and operational objectives are met. following Albemarle APP process.

ü Stakeholder Engagement — Lead coordination with Business, Operations, Maintenance, EHS, Quality, Supply Chain, and Finance etc to ensure project objectives align with strategy and operational needs. Facilitate cross‑functional project reviews to confirm scope, technical requirements, and business justification. Ensure all internal stakeholders understand project timelines, impacts, and required support.

ü Engineering Oversight — Provide engineering guidance, review technical designs, and ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and best practices.

ü Budget & Cost Control — Develop capital budgets, manage expenditures, track forecasts, and implement cost‑saving strategies without compromising quality.

ü Schedule Management — Create and maintain detailed project schedules, identify risks, and implement mitigation plans to ensure timely delivery.

ü Risk & Compliance — Identify project risks, lead risk‑mitigation strategies, and ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

ü Contract & Vendor Management — Coordinate procurement activities, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor performance throughout the project lifecycle.

ü Reporting & Documentation — Provide executive‑level project updates, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure transparent communication across the organization.

As a Site Project Leader in TAI plant:

ü Full Ownership of Site Capital Portfolio_ Accountable for the planning, prioritization, and execution of the entire site capital project portfolio, ensuring alignment with site strategy, safety requirements, and long‑term business objectives.Ensure all projects meet approved scope, cost, schedule, and quality targets.

ü Strategic Capital Planning _ Together with plant, Lead development of the site’s annual and long‑range capital plan, including project justification, risk assessment, and resource planning. Ensure capital investments support plant reliability, capacity, safety, sustainability, and regulatory compliance.

ü Engineering & Technical Governance _ Provide technical leadership and ensure engineering designs meet corporate standards, chemical industry codes, and process safety requirements. Oversee design reviews, HAZOPs, constructability assessments, and pre‑startup safety reviews.

ü Process Safety & Regulatory Compliance_ Ensure all capital projects comply with PSM, RMP, environmental regulations, and site EHS policies. Maintain accountability for safe execution of construction, commissioning, and startup activities.

ü Stakeholder Leadership & Alignment_ Serve as the primary point of accountability for all project‑related communication with site leadership, corporate engineering, operations, maintenance, EHS, finance, and supply chain.Ensure cross‑functional alignment on project scope, impacts, and operational readiness.

ü Financial Stewardship _ Own the capital budget for the site, including cost estimating, forecasting, financial reporting, and variance management.Ensure strong cost control, competitive bidding, and value‑engineering practices.

ü Contractor & Vendor Performance_ Lead contractor strategy, selection, negotiation, and performance management. Ensure external partners deliver safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.

ü Project Execution Excellence _ Establish and enforce project management processes, stage‑gate governance, and project controls. Drive consistent execution practices across all projects, regardless of size or complexity.

ü Construction, Commissioning & Startup Leadership_Oversee construction activities to ensure safety, quality, and adherence to schedule.Support commissioning and startup planning to ensure smooth integration of new assets into plant operations.

ü 10. Team Leadership & Growth_Build organizational capability in project management, technical engineering, and contractor oversight. Mentor and develop project engineers, construction managers, and other team members involved in capital project execution.

ü 11. Continuous Improvement & Lessons Learned_Drive continuous improvement in capital project delivery, engineering practices, and contractor management. Capture and apply lessons learned to improve future project performance.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering related discipline (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline required).

· 15+ years of experience managing capital projects in the chemical, petrochemical, or related process industries.

· Proven track record delivering multi‑million‑dollar capital projects in an operating plant environment.

· Strong knowledge of chemical process systems, unit operations, and process safety management (PSM).

· Experience with engineering design, construction management, and commissioning/startup.

· Proficiency with project management tools and methodologies

· Strong financial acumen, including cost estimating, forecasting, and capital budgeting.

· Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.

· Professional certifications such as PMP or PE preferred.

· Occasional travel to engineering partners, vendors, or corporate offices may be required.

· Better to have , feasible for oversea project support.

Reporting Structure

· Reports to: Director of APAC Capital Project Director

· May supervise: Site Capital project team, Contracted Engineering Firms, and EPC partners etc

Preferred:

Ø Strong knowledge of materials management, procurement, receiving, warehousing, GR, etc

Ø Experience with SAP Project Module and other basic SAP transactions

Ø Overall site project leader experience

Ø Feasibility for Cross region project support
