The Opportunity:
With a strong secured pipeline and major projects on the horizon, we are looking to strengthen our Brisbane team with an experienced Principal Geotechnical Engineer. You will provide leadership across project delivery, business development and technical excellence. Working closely with our multidisciplinary teams, you will help shape the future growth of our Queensland geotechnical practice while contributing to major projects nationally
What you will do:
- Lead complex geotechnical investigations, analyses and designs across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure, energy, water, industrial and urban development projects.
- Provide strategic guidance on major and technically challenging projects.
- Build and strengthen trusted relationships with clients, contractors and industry stakeholders, identifying opportunities to deliver value and grow our market presence.
- Drive business development activities, including proposal preparation, project pursuits and securing new opportunities across Queensland and the eastern seaboard.
- Provide technical leadership, peer review and quality assurance to ensure geotechnical deliverables meet the highest standards of excellence.
- Mentor and develop engineers, engineering geologists and field personnel, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
- Contribute to the strategic growth and direction of our Geotechnical Engineering & Geology team, helping expand our capability and reputation in the market.
- Collaborate with civil, structural, environmental and project management professionals to deliver integrated, multidisciplinary solutions for our clients.
What you bring:
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline.
- More than fifteen years of geotechnical engineering experience with a record of delivering successful projects.
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) status
- Demonstrated experience leading complex infrastructure, development or resource-sector projects.
- Experience on road or rail authority projects, including design or proof engineering for earth-retention systems, soil-nailed slopes, hardstands or construction impact assessments.
- Strong knowledge of Australian geotechnical practice, investigation methods and design standards
- A proven ability to develop client relationships and win work
- Experience leading and mentoring technical teams.
- Exceptional communication, commercial and stakeholder management skills
