Operations Manager - Concrete
AdbriThe Role:
We're seeking an experienced Manager to lead our cement manufacturing operation in Brisbane, Queensland. Reporting directly to the General Manager, Concrete and Aggregates, you'll be responsible for the operational performance of the business โ from safety and environmental compliance through to production, maintenance and process engineering, quality management, financial management, and team leadership. You'll play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and collaboration across the site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive continuous improvement in performance, including incident reduction, risk management and contractor compliance.
- Champion safety leadership across all operations.
- Manage the concrete operations to ensure reliable supply, quality and efficiency.
- Optimise production planning, logistics and asset utilisation to meet customer demand.
- Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement, cost control and productivity initiatives.
- Ensure preventative maintenance programs are implemented to maximise plant availability and asset life.
- Deliver budgeted revenue, margin and EBITDA targets and manage cost, capital expenditure and working capital.
- Identify growth opportunities including new markets and products and build strong relationships with key clients, suppliers, regulators and industry partners.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through service reliability and quality outcomes.
- Lead change initiatives to improve systems. processes and business performance
About You:
You're an experienced manager with a strong track record in heavy industry, manufacturing, processing, mining, cement or related industrial operations. You combine technical knowledge with exceptional people leadership skills and a genuine commitment to safety and operational excellence. Youโll bring:
- Strong strategic senior leadership experience with demonstrated ability to build, develop and lead large operational teams
- Sound understanding of asset management, maintenance strategies and plant reliability principles
- Strong financial and commercial acumen with proven P&L accountability
- Influential stakeholder management, high impact communication and influencing skills
- Strong problem-solving ability and data-driven decision-making capability
- Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Degree in Engineering, Business, Management or equivalent qualification
- Change leadership and continuous improvement orientation
- Proven ability to deliver operational improvement and profitable growth.
