Primary duties
The PMO Master Scheduler is accountable for the integrity, integration and governance of portfolio-level schedules across EOS Defence programs. The role develops and maintains Integrated Master Schedules that align project delivery plans, production activities and contractual obligations, providing a trusted single source of truth for schedule performance and forecast delivery confidence.
Working closely with Project Managers and functional stakeholders, the PMO Master Scheduler provides portfolio-level reporting and insights, challenges schedule assumptions and risks, drives scheduling standards and governance, and enables informed decision-making through accurate visibility of milestones, dependencies, critical paths and delivery impacts.
This is a full time permanent position based at Hume (Canberra) and the incumbent will need to reside within region to work onsite. Incumbent also need to have Defence related experience to be successful in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Own and control portfolio-level Integrated Master Schedules, including baselines, milestones, dependencies, critical paths, constraints and forecast impacts.
Translate project, production and ASDEFCON contractual requirements into credible, logic-driven schedules that support delivery execution and decision-making.
Maintain schedule governance, baseline control and change discipline, ensuring movements and re-forecasts are visible, justified and traceable.
Provide portfolio-level reporting and insights on slippage, dependency risks, resource constraints, delivery confidence and recovery actions.
Challenge weak assumptions, incomplete plans and unsupported forecasts through structured reviews with Project Managers and functional teams.
Embed consistent PMO scheduling standards, templates, reporting routines and tool usage across the EOS Defence portfolio.
Ensure commercial and contractual drivers, including milestones, payment events, deliverables and LD exposure, are reflected in schedules and reporting.
Coach Project Managers in planning discipline, schedule quality and practical use of Microsoft Project, Microsoft Planner and M365 tools.
Key Attributes
Advanced Microsoft Project expertise, including critical path analysis, baselining, dependencies and schedule forecasting.
Strong analytical capability, with the ability to translate schedule data into actionable insights, risks and recovery actions.
Sound commercial and contractual awareness, including milestones, deliverables, payment events and schedule impacts.
Strong governance and planning discipline, with a focus on schedule integrity, traceability and control.
Confident stakeholder influencer, capable of challenging assumptions, driving accountability and coaching Project Managers.
Experience
Essential to have exposure to Defence / ASDEFCON methodology.
10+ years’ experience in a similar role supporting large-scale programs (not just single projects), ideally involving multiple concurrent workstreams.
Essential to have Australian Citizenship; Baseline clearance desirable
Experience working in PMO environments.
Preferred Certification PMI-SP / PSP.
