Pegasus Media and Logistics is a privately owned company located at Blacktown. We offer our clients high quality and environmentally sustainable products and a large variety of printing services including commercial offset printing, point of purchase displays, campaign management, digital printing, self-adhesive labels, packaging, warehousing, inventory management and national distribution.

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Machine Operator to join a fast-paced manufacturing team within the Digital department.    

About The Role

Reporting to the Digital Print Manager, we are looking for a full-time Machine Operator to join our Digital team, working 11.00pm to 7.00am shift, Monday to Friday.

You will be responsible for, but not limited to the following tasks:

  • Operating Digital Print Machines – running jobs according to instructions and inn specification
  • Set up machines efficiently, ensuring all settings align with job specifications and production standards.
  • Setup and adjust machines, regulating factors such as speed, inkflow, focus and number of copies.
  • Deliver completed work to Finishing department as required.
  • Monitor machine operation and make adjustments as necessary to ensure proper operation.
  • Maintain stock of supplies and request supplies as needed.
  • Load and unload stock and finished goods safely and efficiently.
  • Complete production records and quality assurance documentation accurately.
  • Assist with job changes and associated tasks.
  • Perform quality inspection checks and other procedural checks to ensure the best quality is delivered to our customers.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning to keep equipment in optimal condition.
  • Housekeeping duties and any other ad hoc tasks required as part of a site production team.
  • Contribute to a safe working environment for yourself and the team including working in accordance with the company Quality, Continuous Improvement and Work Health and Safety systems and standards.

 

About You

To be successful in the role, the ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Previous experience working in a commercial print or packaging manufacturing environment in a similar role
  • Proven experience in operating machines and processes using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines.
  • Able to monitor processes, materials, and/or surrounding over period of time; reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems
  • Have high level observation skills, ability to detect problems with machinery, errors or defects
  • Keep up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to job
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and planning skills to meet tight deadlines and operational requirements and to think outside the square with sound judgement.
  • Ability to demonstrate a willingness to respond to changing work requirements and peak periods.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a high degree of integrity and honesty
  • Have a high attention to detail and quality mindset and be able to follow instructions
  • Ability to communicate with Supervisors, Peers and other stakeholders clearly and concisely
  • Be able to perform tasks that require manual handling tasks.
  • Able to work 11.00pm to 7.00am shift, Monday to Friday.
  • Must have full working rights to Work in Australia
