HVAC Project Manager

About the role

Benmax is seeking a Project Manager to join our team and work closely with the General Manager. You’ll take ownership of projects from start to finish, working across a business that keeps design, construction, service and fabrication all in-house, which means you’re never chasing a subcontractor for answers.

Based at our office in Queanbeyan, NSW, you’ll work on sites around the Canberra area, on major commercial projects. Benmax has been family-run since 1986, and we’ve built our name on straight talk, honest work and turning up when we say we will. Your work will include:

• Delivering projects from planning through to completion, keeping them on time, on budget and to standard
• Working with the General Manager to manage project budgets and resourcing
• Managing contracts and ensuring conformance, from award through to close-out
• Liaising with clients, subcontractors and internal teams to keep everyone aligned
• Monitoring progress against milestones and troubleshooting issues as they come up
• Promoting and maintaining compliance with relevant codes, standards and Benmax’s WHSEQ systems
• Contributing to Division planning and broader business planning as required
• Building strong client relationships that lead to repeat work

What you’ll bring

• Tertiary qualifications in Project Management or similar (essential)
• Experience delivering projects in construction, mechanical or HVAC services
• Current, unrestricted Australian Driver’s Licence
• General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
• Certificate IV in WHS, or equivalent Work Health & Safety for Managers qualification
• A good understanding of construction contracts for the relevant jurisdiction
• The ability to liaise professionally with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with excellent attention to detail
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
