THE ROLE

You will play a critical role in supporting Signal Group’s workforce by leading all HR activities on site and supporting Signal leaders and teams to be their individual and collective customer focussed best.

Key responsibilities will include;

  • Implement and maintain HR policies and procedures aligned to legislative requirements and operational realities; support consistent application across the group. 
  • Own employment law and industrial relations compliance, including interpretation/application of modern awards, Fair Work Act obligations, consultation requirements and record-keeping.
  • Provide practical, legally sound support to leaders on performance management, absenteeism, misconduct, grievances and conflict resolution
  • Design and deliver training and coaching for all teams in relation to customer, process, product and performance and coaching for supervisors/managers on people leadership, respectful workplace behaviours, and performance conversations.
  • Drive cultural change programs in partnership with leaders (e.g., values, expected behaviours, leadership routines, communication cadence, recognition and accountability), using change management principles.
  • Lead disciplinary processes, investigations and terminations, ensuring procedural fairness, timely documentation and appropriate risk management.
  • Partner with leaders on workforce planning, organisational design and labour demand, supporting operational productivity and engagement.
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment and onboarding for roles across manufacturing/warehouse, sales and corporate functions, ensuring robust pre-employment checks and fit-for-role selection.
  • Contribute to a safe workplace by supporting WHS consultation requirements, psychosocial risk initiatives, and alignment between safety, performance and culture expectations

YOUR BACKGROUND

  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and industrial instruments
  • Experience gained in providing HR and recruitment to customer focused or production based operational environments.
  • Ability to manage employee relations matters.
  • Ability to relate to all team members across a variety of roles.
  • Practical, resilient and hands on collaborator.
  • Sense of urgency.
  • Strong communicator, great listener.
  • Passionate about training and development.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
