Are you a confident and driven hospitality leader ready to take full ownership of hotel operations? 291 On King is seeking an experienced Hotel Manager / Operations Manager to lead a high-performing team, maintain premium service standards and ensure strong financial performance.

This is an opportunity to bring your expertise, creativity and leadership to one of Newcastle’s leading accommodation providers, working closely with Directors to shape strategy and drive ongoing success.

As Hotel Manager/Operations Manager, your role will be central to the daily success and long-term vision of the business.

Key Skills and Responsibilities:

• Oversee all hotel operations to ensure smooth, guest-focused service;

• Lead and support teams to deliver a premium guest experience aligned with core values;

• Ensure effective workforce planning and maintain high staff retention;

• Facilitate internal communication through meetings, training, and briefings;

• Drive performance development aligned with business objectives;

• Promote a positive culture focused on business goals and values;

• Collaborate with Directors on operational strategies and growth plans;

• Manage key financial metrics including budget, occupancy, CPOR, and profitability;

• Achieve guest satisfaction targets and lead continuous improvement initiatives;

• Implement marketing strategies via EDMS, social media, and other channels;

• Oversee front desk operations and ensure professional guest communication;

• Coordinate with housekeeping to maintain high standards of cleanliness and service;

• Ensure property maintenance through contractor and supplier management;

• Monitor and optimise hotel systems like booking platforms and EDMS.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management or Hospitality Management is preferred but not essential;

• Must have demonstrated experience in hotel or management;

• Proven ability to lead teams and contractors effectively, building positive workplace culture;

• Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets, forecasts and business performance metrics;

• Solid understanding of guest service standards, complaint management and service recovery;

• Confident in compliance management, WHS standards and quality systems;

• Proficient in hotel technology platforms (PMS, booking systems, EDMS, etc.)
