Position Available:  Heavy Haulage East Operations Manager

Location:  Richlands

About the Role:

This position will report to the General Manager - Heavy Haulage providing safe, cost efficient and reliable transport solutions whilst ensuring heavy haulage assets are safely maintained and utilisation is maximised.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Enforce compliance with Chain of Responsibility and all statutory and regulatory legislations.
• Ensure cost efficiencies, safety and achieve the highest level of customer service.
• Closely manage all variable costs associated with running the heavy haulage operation.
• Establish and manage customer relationships with key customers, suppliers and the subcontractor workforce.
• Receive enquiries and tender requests from customers and provide quotations within required timeframes.
• Assist in providing strategic direction to heavy haulage operation and fulfilling strategic obligations.
• Manage staffing levels and overtime.

Skills and Experience: 

• Substantial experience in control of Heavy Haulage operations and people management.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members, other departments, and external stakeholders.
• Strong leadership abilities to oversee and guide a team of drivers, dispatchers, and other transportation personnel.
• A deep understanding of transportation regulations, compliance, and safety standards.
• Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS), routing software, and other relevant tools.
