With seven offices throughout Australia, we continue to grow our capability and strengthen our position as trusted advisors to our clients.

The Opportunity:

With a strong secured pipeline and major projects on the horizon, we are growing our geotechnical capability in Hobart. This is an opportunity for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to bring innovative design expertise, lead meaningful packages of work and strengthen our national delivery capability from Tasmania.

What you will do:

  • Deliver geotechnical design and review work that supports high-impact projects across Australia.
  • Take ownership of small projects or significant work packages within larger, more complex projects.
  • Lead geotechnical site investigations from scoping through execution, including fieldwork coordination, ground logging and reporting.
  • Develop ground models and design parameters for soil and rock to inform practical, buildable solutions.
  • Design and analyse temporary and permanent works, including foundations, retaining structures, landslides, embankments and cuttings.
  • Prepare geotechnical interpretive reports, technical specifications, drawings, proposals and other client-ready deliverables.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to solve complex geotechnical challenges and achieve strong project outcomes.
  • Apply quality, risk and safety requirements throughout investigation, design and delivery.

What you bring:

  • Minimum of five years of geotechnical engineering experience with a record of delivering successful projects.
  • Experience scoping and managing site investigations and producing clear, actionable reports.
  • Strong analytical capability in developing ground models and selecting geotechnical design parameters for soil and rock.
  • Experience on road or rail authority projects, including design or proof engineering for earth-retention systems, soil-nailed slopes, hardstands or construction impact assessments.
  • The ability to understand client needs and translate them into effective project outcomes.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, sound judgement and a collaborative approach.
  • Experience with Bentley OpenGround, Seequent Leapfrog and PLAXIS 2D is highly desirable.
  • Eligibility for chartered status and a desire to work towards professional accreditation
