Forklift Operator

At Centurion Transport, we’re on the lookout for a reliable Freight Officer to join our Yard Operations team. This is a permanent role offering great conditions, strong team culture, and long-term opportunities with a national logistics leader.

About the Role:

As a Freight Officer, you’ll be at the heart of our yard operations, ensuring freight is handled safely, accurately, and efficiently. You’ll work with a variety of freight types and forklift sizes, playing a key role in keeping our operation moving.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in safe load restraint, accuracy, and teamwork.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Operating counterbalance forklifts (2.5T, 7T & 16T)
• Handling general, ugly, palletised and oversize freight
• Securing loads in line with the Load Restraint Guide using ratchet straps, chains and binders
• Scanning and tracking freight through all stages (received, staged, loaded & unloaded)
• Preparing outbound freight for safe and secure dispatch
• Working with RF scanners to ensure accuracy and compliance

What You’ll Bring:

• Current LF Forklift Licence with practical experience
• Proven experience working with general and oversize freight
• Strong load restraint skills (ratchet straps, chains & binders)
• Previous yard hand or similar experience
• Ability to follow direction and work as part of a team
• RF scanner experience (highly regarded)
