Based at our historic farm, Godolphin Woodlands, located near Denman, NSW, this role offers an experienced Farm Hand with strong fencing skills the opportunity to secure long-term employment on a premium breeding property known for its high standards and pride in presentation.
Reporting to the Farm Manager, this hands-on role plays a key part in maintaining the safety, integrity and presentation of farm infrastructure, with a primary focus on fence construction, repairs and ongoing fence maintenance across the property. The role also supports broader farm operations including pasture management, livestock care and general property maintenance.
Key responsibilities:
Fencing & Infrastructure:
- Installation, maintenance and repair of livestock fences including post and rail, wire, electric fencing systems and maintenance of associated equipment
- Regular inspection of fences and gates to ensure livestock security and safety
Farm Operations:
- Assist with general farm and infrastructure maintenance as required
- Undertake routine pasture maintenance operations including fertilising, topping, cutting and baling
- Operate and monitor irrigation systems including repositioning and basic maintenance
- Operate farm machinery including tillage, sowing, spraying and harvesting as required
Livestock Care:
- Provide daily care of cattle including feeding, watering, movements, injury recognition and general animal husbandry
This role would suit someone who:
- Enjoys hands-on outdoor work and takes pride in well-built and well-maintained infrastructure
- Has strong experience in rural fence construction and maintenance
- Is reliable, safety focused, has a strong work ethic and take pride in high-quality workmanship.
- Is comfortable working independently or as part of a small, close-knit team
- Holds a chemical accreditation (or willingness to obtain)
- Holds a current driver’s licence
