Huntly Bauxite Mine | Full-Time | Immediate Start | 7:7 Roster

About the Role

We are seeking experienced Excavator Operators to join our clearing team at the Huntly Bauxite Mine. You will be operating an excavator fitted with attachments such as hydraulic wood shears, undertaking clearing, snipping, stockpiling, and timber processing activities within a mining environment.

• 7:7 roster
• 12-hour days
• Full-time role
• Commencing immediately

Key Duties

• Operate excavators with wood processing and hydraulic shear attachments
• Clear, snip, stockpile, and process timber residue
• Cut timber residue into manageable sizes and create stockpiles
• Sort and separate various timber species such as Jarrah and Bluegum
• Organise felled timber into stacks based on size or type for transport or further processing
• Separate timber from rubble and debris to prevent contamination
• Ensure work areas are clear of rocks and materials that may impact timber quality
• Complete daily pre-start checks and ensure plant is maintained in a safe and serviceable condition

Technical Requirements

• Demonstrated experience operating excavators with timber/wood processing attachments
• Experience in forestry and mine clearing
• Ability to identify different timber species
• Solid knowledge of mobile plant operations
• Previous experience working in a mining environment (essential)
• Excavator ticket
• White Card
• Valid driver’s licence (HR licence highly regarded)
• Strong commitment to work health and safety policies and procedures
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen
