Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Excavator Operator to work across a range of major civil and subdivision projects throughout Melbourne.

About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of civil construction projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and positioning plant for safe and efficient operation.
  • Loading and unloading equipment as required.
  • Excavating, trimming, and shaping earth, rock, and rubble to specification using GPS machine control systems.
  • Operating and changing attachments, including various buckets and specialised equipment.
  • Monitoring plant performance and making adjustments to ensure optimal operation.
  • Interpreting site plans, service markers, and project requirements under the direction of Supervisors and Engineers.
  • Working safely around underground and above-ground services, including electrical, gas, water, and communications assets.
  • Adhering to all company safety policies, procedures, and site requirements.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Minimum 2 years' experience operating excavators within civil construction or subdivision projects.
  • Demonstrated experience using GPS machine control systems, including Topcon or Trimble.
  • Strong understanding of civil construction processes and site safety requirements.
  • A current driver's licence and relevant plant operating tickets.
  • A proactive and safety-first approach to work.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work across different sites and operate various pieces of plant as required.
  • A valid Construction Industry White Card.
  • The ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and meet project deadlines.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical assessment.
