The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Mechanical Fitter to join our Production Department. This full time apprenticeship provides hands on experience working alongside qualified tradespeople while completing your Mechanical Fitting qualification.

You will gain comprehensive skills in mechanical assembly, maintenance, refurbishment, and the operation of industrial vibratory equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, you will:

  • Assist tradespersons with assembly, installation, refurbishment and testing of vibrating screens and mechanical equipment.
  • Learn and apply workshop practices such as precision measuring, marking out and fabrication techniques.
  • Conduct routine pre start inspections on forklifts, cranes, vehicles and other plant/equipment.
  • Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
  • Follow engineering drawings, specifications and company procedures.
  • Participate in fault finding, adjustments and mechanical repairs.
  • Develop practical skills in welding, machining, fitting and mechanical assembly.
  • Carry out general workshop and site tasks as required.
  • Support Workshop Supervisors and the Head of Production with relevant tasks as directed.
Corporate Responsibilities

About You: Our Ideal Candidate

You have a genuine interest in mechanical fitting, hands on work and industrial machinery. You demonstrate:

Selection Criteria Mandatory:
  • Year 10 completion (or equivalent) with strong aptitude in maths and technical subjects
  • Ability to safely perform manual handling and mechanical labour
  • Strong understanding of workplace health and safety
  • Ability to work collaboratively and follow directions
Highly Desirable:
  • Current WA driver’s licence
  • WA High Risk Work Licence – Forklift
