Yard Hand / Labourer

The Role As a Yard Hand / Labourer based at our Plant equipment yard in Willawong, you will support day-to-day yard operations, ensuring materials, equipment, and work areas are organised, safe, and ready for use. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in keeping things running smoothly, and works well as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist with general yard duties including cleaning, organising, and maintaining work areas
2. Load, unload, move, and store materials, tools, and equipment safely
3. Perform manual handling tasks including lifting, carrying, and relocating items
4. Operate basic hand tools and equipment as required
5. Operate a forklift safely and in accordance with site procedures
6. Support trades and site teams with general labouring duties
7. Ensure yard areas are kept tidy, safe, and compliant with safety standards
8. Follow all WHS procedures and report hazards, incidents, or equipment issues
9. Assist with stock control and inventory management where required
10. Carry out other duties as directed by supervisors or site management

Skills & Experience

1. Current driver’s licence (essential)
2. Current forklift licence
3. Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks
4. Strong work ethic with a reliable and proactive attitude
5. Ability to follow instructions and work safely at all times
6. Good communication and teamwork skills
7. Basic understanding of tools, equipment, and site safety practices
8. Previous yard hand or labouring experience is an advantage but not essential
