Bluestone Mines Tasmania Joint Venture Pty Ltd is Australia’s largest Tin producer.  Bluestone is a well-established, high yield tin producer with a strong resource base supporting a mine life in excess of 10 years. The Renison mine is located on Tasmania’s beautiful West Coast between the towns of Zeehan and Rosebery.

 About the mine

 About the role

As part of the 12-week Bluestone Mines Tasmania Joint Venture Vacation Student Program, you will gain hands-on exposure to underground mining while working within experienced and supportive teams committed to your development.

This program is designed for students studying Mining Engineering or related disciplines such as Surveying or Geotechnical Engineering.

The role is offered on either a residential or drive-in/drive-out (DIDO) basis.

Core responsibilities

·          Gain valuable underground experience across mining crews, including Jumbo off-siding, service crew activities, and truck operations

·         Actively participate as a member of the mining team

·         Follow safety protocols and standards while working collaboratively to ensure safety requirements are fulfilled.

About you

You will be a motivated student in your 3rd or 4th year of a Mining Engineering degree or a related discipline with a strong interest in developing a career in the mining industry.

You will apply your classroom knowledge to gain invaluable hands-on experience.

You will have a C class driver’s licence and be comfortable and able to work underground in a team environment, whilst demonstrating strong communication and organisational skills enabling you to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.

Bluestone Mines Tasmania offers free accommodation inclusive of meals whilst on shift. Interstate candidates are encouraged to apply and will be provided flights at commencement and completion of vacation period along with accommodation and meals for the duration.
