About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Portable Toilet Service Technician to join our team based at our Laverton yard, servicing customers throughout Melbourne’s western suburbs and surrounding areas.

While Benkel Hire’s main depot is located in Hallam, this position is permanently based from our Laverton facility, allowing you to start and finish your day in Melbourne’s west.

You will be responsible for servicing portable toilets and waste holding tanks across a variety of customer sites, ensuring units remain clean, hygienic, fully stocked, and operating correctly.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Starting and finishing each day from our Laverton yard
• Completing scheduled service runs throughout Melbourne’s western suburbs
• Pumping out portable toilets and waste holding tanks
• Refilling fresh water and sanitation chemicals
• Cleaning and maintaining portable toilet units
• Conducting basic equipment inspections
• Completing service records using a mobile device
• Providing professional customer service on site
• Following company safety and environmental procedures
• Keeping vehicles and equipment clean, tidy, and well maintained

This is a hands-on role involving physical work, manual handling, waste pumping, cleaning, and working outdoors in all weather conditions.

The Reality of the Job

Let’s be upfront — you’ll be servicing portable toilets and pumping waste tanks.

The role can be dirty and smelly at times, and you’ll regularly be working around waste and sanitation systems. If you’re not comfortable getting your hands dirty, this probably isn’t the right role for you.
