Truck Driver/Loader Operator

Our Garden & Landscape team in Castlemaine is looking for an experienced, customer-focused Truck Driver/Loader Operator who is flexible in undertaking truck driving, loader operator and general yard hand duties.

ASQ Garden & Landscape is a locally owned and operated business supplying a large range of landscaping and horticultural needs for the novice gardener through to the professional landscaper. Our landscape supply yards and garden nurseries located in Bendigo, Castlemaine and Maryborough are presented and maintained to the highest industry standard and are operated by professional, qualified staff who deliver expert advice, knowledge and services to our retail and trade customers.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Truck Driver/Loader Operator who is responsible for providing a high level of customer service and the safe loading, unloading and delivery of product to our customers, as well as assisting with yard duties and sales as required. This is a full time position working primarily from our Castlemaine site.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Loading, unloading, and delivery of product. Ensuring all vehicles are loaded safely and efficiently with the correct product, weight and cubic metres.
• Delivering and unloading product efficiently at the location determined by the customer.
• Collecting payment from customers upon delivery and promptly returning it to the yard office. Completing all required documentation accordingly.
• General yard duties; maintaining presentation and cleanliness of the truck and loader, maintaining product bins.
• Notifying the Supervisor/Site Manager of discrepancies with product being loaded/delivered.
• Performing dust suppression duties by operating the water truck where required and other yard duties such as weeding, rubbish removal and general maintenance as required.
• Customer Service and sales assistance as required.

Key Selection Criteria

The successful candidate will have proven, safe delivery driving, loading and unloading experience and be able to provide positive and confident customer interaction, and the ability to perform manual duties.

• Safety conscious and strong work ethic
• Knowledge/experience in landscape products (desirable)
• Able to work weekends as required
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines/customer requirements and follow directions
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills

Education, Certification and Licenses required:

• Heavy Rigid Truck license and experience
• Sales Loader experience and loader ticket is desirable
• Work Safely or Construction Induction Card
