Truck Driver

Location: Nyngan, NSW Employment Type: Full-time (38 hours per week, 9‑day fortnight)

Bogan Shire Council is seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to support the construction and maintenance of our sealed and unsealed road networks. About the Role

As a Truck Driver, you will carry out haulage, loading and unloading operations to support road construction and maintenance programs. Key responsibilities include:

• Driving, loading and unloading trucks over 30,000kg GVM
• Operating additional plant such as Water Cart and Front End Loader
• Completing maintenance and construction works on sealed and unsealed roads
• Applying road‑making materials and water to required standards
• Completing accurate daily records, including timesheets and running sheets
• Reading and applying traffic control plans and using PPE and safety equipment correctly
• Assisting with on‑ground coordination of works when allocated
• Ensuring safe load restraint in line with NHVR guidelines

Salary and Benefits

• Grade 4 equivalent to $1,249.44 to $1,446.42 (based on qualifications and experience)

What We’re Looking For

You have:

• Current Class HC driver licence
• Experience driving, loading and unloading trucks over 30,000kg GVM
• Competency in operating heavy plant such as Water Cart and Front End Loader, or the ability to obtain relevant certificates
• Knowledge of civil construction operations and the ability to meet deadlines and quality standards
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
• Good judgement, attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
• Clear communication skills and the ability to interpret work programs and reports
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• NSW White Card
• Australian residency or valid work visa

Desirable:

• Certificate III in Civil Construction (Plant Operations)
• Plant tickets (Skid Steer, Backhoe, Front End Loader)
• Class MC licence
• Traffic Controller or Traffic Management Implementer qualifications
• Current First Aid Certificate
