As part of their growth in transmission delivery capabilities, we are recruiting for a Transmission OHL Construction Manager to join their dynamic team.

This role presents an opportunity to make a real impact on Australia's energy transition. Key Responsibilities

As a Transmission OHL Construction Manager, you will:

  • Leadership & Coordination:
    • Lead and manage construction activities for high-voltage transmission line projects up to 330kV.
    • Supervise site-based teams, supervisors, subcontractors, and specialist contractors.
    • Foster a strong safety and quality culture through effective leadership and engagement.
  • Project Delivery:
    • Execute projects according to client specifications, industry standards, and utility requirements.
    • Oversee all transmission construction activities, including foundations, structures, pole installations, conductor stringing, OPGW installation, and other essential infrastructure.
    • Create and implement construction methodologies, work packs, and execution plans to guarantee project success.
    • Manage resources, including labour, equipment, and materials, within budget and timeline constraints.
  • Quality & Compliance:
    • Ensure alignment with all project HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) standards.
    • Oversee quality assurance processes, inspections, and testing to uphold construction excellence.
    • Coordinate and manage as-built documentation upon project completion.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Work closely with project managers, engineering teams, clients, utility representatives, landowners, and other critical stakeholders.
    • Establish strong client relationships to foster collaboration and achieve successful project deliveries.

Qualifications & Requirements

We are seeking applications from experienced professionals with the following skills and qualifications:

Essential Requirements

  • Trade qualification, engineering degree, or equivalent construction management experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience managing or coordinating overhead transmission line construction projects.
  • Expertise in the delivery of high-voltage transmission infrastructure projects (up to 330kV).
  • Thorough understanding of utility and industry standards related to transmission line construction.
  • Proven ability to lead field crews, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in project planning, scheduling, and execution.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Current Driver's License.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol testing.
  • Strong commitment to fostering safety and ensuring high-quality project outcomes.

Highly Regarded Skills & Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Management.
  • Certificate III in ESI - Transmission Overhead.
  • Hands-on experience in renewable energy grid connection and utility transmission projects.
  • Familiarity with Australian transmission standards and utility owner requirements.
  • Experience working with transmission providers, EPC contractors, or large infrastructure clients.
  • Skills in project controls, forecasting, cost management, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in project management and construction reporting systems.

Day-to-day Activities

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing and updating project schedules and execution strategies.
  • Conducting on-site inspections to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborating with project stakeholders to align construction activities with project goals.
  • Coordinating activities of field crews and subcontractors to meet project deadlines.
  • Managing challenges effectively to prevent delays or cost overruns.
  • Preparing progress updates and analyzing project metrics for accurate reporting.
  • Engaging with landowners and stakeholders to facilitate project implementation smoothly.
