Trades Assistant

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Trade Assistant will join a supportive and collaborative Maintenance and Reliability team at Harvey Beef, Western Australia’s largest beef processor. The Trade Assistant will play a key role in ensuring plant reliability and production efficiency.

Working in a rotating day/night roster (7-day fortnight rotation), you’ll be responsible for assisting the Fitter’s, conducting repairs and maintenance of Harvey Beef Plant and for maintaining the workshop and associated equipment in a safe, clean and tidy condition in our state-of-the-art facility located in Harvey, WA.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist Fitter’s in repairing and servicing Plant equipment
• Lubricate all the plant equipment including the hand tools.
• Clean workshop area, tools.
• Perform other routine duties as required

What We’re Looking For:

The ideal candidate will bring:

• High school certificate or equivalent education certificate or one to three months related experience and or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Forklift certificate (desirable)
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn and develop
• Hold a current national Manual "C" class driver's license
• Previous mechanical experience
