Our client is a well-established WA manufacturer supplying specialist permanent formwork systems to the construction industry. Due to significant growth, they are seeking two experienced Engineers for an initial 3–6 month contract.
Working together, you will be responsible for redesigning and reconfiguring manufacturing machinery to reduce equipment footprint, improve production efficiency and support ongoing demand.
The Roles:
Senior / Lead Mechanical Machine Design Engineer
This position will take the lead on the mechanical design and overall machine architecture, including:
- Developing machinery concepts and redesign solutions
- Completing mechanical calculations and component selection
- Designing mechanical systems, mechanisms and machine layouts
- Reducing the overall footprint of existing manufacturing equipment
- Producing and reviewing SolidWorks designs
- Supporting machinery modifications and implementation on site
Working alongside the Senior Engineer, this position will focus on detailed mechanical design and/or automation requirements, including:
- Producing detailed SolidWorks models and manufacturing drawings
- Designing and modifying machine components
- Assisting with machinery layout and equipment reconfiguration
- Supporting automation requirements including sensors, servos and controls
- Assisting with machine interfaces and system integration
- Supporting installation, testing and commissioning activities
About You:
To be considered for either role, you will ideally have:
- Relevant Mechanical, Mechatronics or similar Engineering qualifications
- Strong machine design, manufacturing equipment or industrial automation experience, with proven concept-to-implementation exposure
- SolidWorks proficiency
- Experience across mechanical design, calculations, component selection & detailed CAD
- Full working rights for the duration of the project
- Driver’s licence & reliable transport
This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of a high-impact manufacturing improvement project and see your designs directly influence how the facility operates.
- Initial 3–6 month contract with potential to extend
- Monday to Friday, approx. 45 hours per week
- Flexible start & finish times
- Very limited weekend work
- Bayswater office base with site exposure as required
- Competitive hourly rates, negotiable depending on experience
