Arrow Energy is a Queensland-based producer of natural gas and electricity to power homes, business, and industries. 

Our Surat Gas Project is a 27-year project that will have the capability to produce enough natural gas to power the equivalent of more than four million homes every day.

We employ around 500 people and contractors, and have offices in Dalby, Chinchilla, and Brisbane.

To meet our growing demands, we are looking for a Senior Cost Controller to join our team.

 

The Role: Reporting to the Cost Control Manager, purpose of the role is to deliver accurate and quality cost engineering on significant capital scope budgets. Drive project cost outcomes to desired outcomes, by building and delivering cost engineering that allows robust early warning signals that are reflected through project forecasts.

 

This is a Brisbane based position and will require occasional travel to our field operations as required, with plenty of notice.

 

In addition, you will:

  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to consistently role model Arrow’s values, code of conduct, safety and the environment.
  • Establish positive and productive working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Model inclusive behaviours to create a safe environment where different views and perspectives are encouraged and valued.
  • Perform cost control tasks including monthly accruals, forecasting and annual budget.
  • Maintain WBS structure, assisting raising purchase requisition under the WBS, verify invoices and resolving any invoice related issue.
  • Guide accurate monthly project cost reports through identification of variances from plan on commitments, value of work done, changes against approved authority for expenditure (AFE).
  • Implement change management process for projects providing guidance on trend analysis and the assessment of change impacts on cost.
  • Establish, manage and monitor contractor reporting requirements via weekly/monthly progress, cost and performance reporting requirements to align with the Operator (Arrow's) requirements.
  • Engage with Planning Engineers to ensure contractor and internal schedules reflected in Primavera P6 and other systems are integrated with cost data for Forecasting.

 

About You

You will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to contribute to a high performing-team with a second-to-none focus on safety and integrity.

 

To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:

  • Qualification: University degree [OR] First degree [OR] Other Professional Qualification
  • Engineering Degree and/or Certification as Project Services Manager or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of experience (ideal).
  • Significant experience in roles where the organisation is the operator.
  • A high degree of skill in written and oral communications.
  • Significant experience in unconventional oil and gas industry is highly desirable.
