Sales Loader Operator

The HB Quarry is at the heart of the HB Group that has been a Territory institution since 1960. The quarry is located approximately 100kms outside of Darwin along the Arnhem Highway, at Mt Bundy Station. Mining a 200+ year granite supply with the capacity to produce over 1,000,000 tonnes of quarry products per year, consisting of concrete and sealing aggregates, fine crushed rock, quarry sand and marine armour. The crushing and screening circuit is recognised to be the largest and most efficient in the NT.

Reporting directly to the Quarry Manager, we are currently seeking an experience and reliable Sales Loader Operator to join our team at the HB Quarry.

Key Responsibilities

These include, but will not be limited to:

• Operate wheel loaders to safely and efficiently load customer trucks and company vehicles.
• Load a range of quarry products including aggregates, sand, road base and other materials.
• Ensure the correct product and quantity is loaded as per customer requirements.
• Maintain accurate communication with the weighbridge and sales/administration team.
• Assist customers with product identification and loading requirements.
• Maintain clean, safe and organised sales/loading areas.
• Complete daily pre-start inspections and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
• Operate equipment in accordance with site SOPs, traffic management plans and safety procedures.
• Monitor stockpiles and loading areas to minimise contamination and product cross-contamination.
• Assist with general quarry duties when required.
• Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach when dealing with truck drivers, contractors and members of the public.
• Work closely with the quarry production team to ensure efficient product availability and dispatch.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping around the loader, stockpiles and sales area.
• Follow environmental requirements and minimise unnecessary dust, spillage and product loss.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience operating CAT 982M wheel loaders, preferably in a quarry, mine or similar environment.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good attention to detail, particularly when loading different products.
• Reliable, punctual and willing to contribute to a busy quarry operation.
• Experience with weighbridge/sales systems would be an advantage.
• Willing to work 12 hour days, with the possibility of Saturday work
