At Fulton Hogan, safety isn’t just part of the job — it’s at the heart of how we work. We are looking for an enthusiastic and capable Safety Advisor to join our Southern Region Construction business in a permanent role. Based in our Richmond corporate office the position supports projects across Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.

Working closely with our Regional HSEQ Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the Fulton Hogan Living Safely approach to work.

As part of the regional HSEQ team, this role acts as an important link between the broader organisation and project teams, helping to ensure the safe, compliant and efficient delivery of our work.

As new projects come online, there will be opportunities to explore a move into a more site-based role, supporting both your career development and the evolving needs of the business.


In this role you'll be responsible for:

  • Supporting project H&S personnel with the implementation of the company safety procedures, policies, and processes
  • Developing and maintaining reports that provide insights into improvement opportunities and hazard trends
  • Educating others to use our safety data systems effectively and efficiently
  • Collecting data and preparing regular reporting including the Safety Monthly Report
  • Contributing to audits, site inspections and other monitoring activities
  • Supporting projects with incident investigation and sharing learnings across the business
  • Developing, contributing to, and delivering communications such as toolbox talks, alerts and safety campaigns
  • Liaising with project teams to gather insights and support safer project delivery

How you'll connect to the role:

  • Certificate IV Occupational Health & Safety as a minimum
  • Prior experience within the civil construction industry is ideal, or experience in another high-risk work environment such as mining or heavy manufacturing
  • A current and valid driver licence
  • A genuine passion for safety and educating others in risk awareness
  • An understanding of incident causation and investigation methodologies
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels
  • Confidence using the Microsoft suite and working in digital systems
  • Flexibility to support the way major civil infrastructure projects are delivered including occasional shift work, weekend work and some interstate travel
