About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Regional Tyre Fitter / Controller to manage tyre operations across our fleet of school buses, route buses, coaches, and mini buses.

This is a hands-on, multi-site role responsible for tyre fitting, stock control, performance monitoring, and ensuring our fleet operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.

You’ll play a key part in keeping our buses on the road and delivering critical passenger services to the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fit, repair, rotate, and replace tyres across multiple depots (mobile and workshop-based)
  • Respond to and coordinate on-road tyre breakdowns
  • Monitor tyre wear trends and investigate abnormal wear patterns
  • Order and maintain tyre stock levels across depots
  • Plan and manage preventive tyre maintenance schedules
  • Implement practices to maximise tyre life and reduce costs
  • Maintain tyre fitting equipment to safety and compliance standards
  • Organise environmentally responsible tyre disposal
  • Assist mechanics and workshops as required
  • Liaise with depot staff, drivers, and operations teams to support fleet availability

About You

  • Proven experience in heavy vehicle tyre fitting (bus or similar highly regarded)
  • Strong understanding of tyre wear in urban stop/start and highway conditions
  • Experience managing stock and working across multiple locations
  • Ability to diagnose issues and proactively solve problems
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Committed to safety, reliability, and quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and respond to operational demands

A current Heavy Vehicle Licence (HR required).

Must hold a valid Driver’s Accreditation Certificate from Safe Transport Victoria.

Must hold a Working with Children Check (Employee) from Services Victoria.
