We need a driven Quantity Surveyor to join the Macquarie Park Bus Depot project delivery team . You will report on projected costs, undertake cost planning to ensure the project stays within budget and provide regular progress reporting to the key stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Accurately measuring project quantities to support cost planning, forecasting and claims management
  • Monitoring project costs and assisting with cost control and monthly reporting
  • Assisting with client and subcontractor claims, including variations and EOTs
  • Preparing variation costings and supporting commercial analysis
  • Benchmarking costs and identifying value engineering opportunities
  • Identifying contractual and financial risks across project delivery

How you’ll connect to the role?

To succeed in this role, you will bring proven experience in accurately measuring quantities across civil construction and utilities projects, with the ability to translate this into reliable cost planning, forecasting and commercial reporting.

You will hold a tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying and have experience working for a contractor in a live project delivery environment.

You will also bring a strong understanding of construction contracts, subcontract administration and claims management, including variations, progress payments and extension of time claims. Your ability to monitor costs, support monthly reporting requirements, benchmark rates and contribute to value engineering outcomes will be key to your success.

In addition, you will have strong communication and negotiation skills, sound commercial acumen and the ability to identify financial and contractual risk across project delivery. A practical mindset, attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement will see you thrive in the role, along with an alignment to our values of Respect, Energy, Attitude and Leadership.. Experience with JDE will be an advantage, but it is not essential.
