Amazon Leo is Amazon's initiative to provide fast, affordable broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world through a constellation of low Earth orbit satellites. In this role you will serve as the Regional Program Security Officer for the Asia Pacific region as we ramp up service in Australia and beyond. You will own and oversee the execution of multiple security disciplines in support of the Law Enforcement Response and Intercept (LER-I) program. You will be responsible for all security and compliance requirements related to LER-I in Australia specifically and support regional management for the APAC for the same program. You must obsess over internal and external customers and successfully deliver support and services which meet regulatory guidelines and enable our business to respond with speed, and at scale. You must be autonomous, move fast, manage security relevant projects from start to finish, continuously triage and prioritize work for self and others, communicate clearly and compellingly, and deliver exceptional products.

This roles serves primarily as the main point of contact for Law Enforcement in Australia and you must hold, or be capable of attaining, Australian national defense security clearances for this role.

This position may require access to information, technology, or hardware that is subject to export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Employment in this position is contingent upon obtaining any required export licenses or other approvals from the United States government. As such, the successful candidate must be eligible to obtain any necessary export licenses or approvals based on their nationality, citizenship, and any other factors considered by the applicable export control regulations.

Key job responsibilities
The LER-I program will ensure lawful provision of data which, meets security standards, addresses privacy considerations, and follows both Kuiper business and Amazon-wide LER strategy, for every request. In addition to operational and functional responsibilities you will also be a leading stakeholder influencing technical strategy, tooling development, and security decisions in support of the Kuiper LER function. Ensuring alignment on LER-I strategy and approach with other regional and global leads, across the Kuiper business and technical architecture.

* Responsible for building and implementing comprehensive program security guidance concerning personnel, physical, operational, technical, information, and other security issues according to LER-I regulations in Australia and across APAC.
* Create, implement, communicate, and manage security requirements while leading operational support for law enforcement requests up to and including lawful intercept.
* Proactively identify program and physical security initiatives, requirements, problems, and present sound solutions to successfully sustain and enhance the security program
* Develop and strengthen relationships with internal and external partners to heighten security awareness and engagement.

A day in the life
As the APAC Regional Program Security Officer you will manage the intake, data sourcing and legal assurance activities to support the both day to day LEA Requests as well as Lawful Intercept requirements. You will be responsible for decisioning high judgement requests for all levels and sectors of law enforcement. You will support direct engagement with Regulators as needed for licensure, ongoing inquiries and investigations, and any audits that may be requested. You will participate in and lead APAC strategy for all aspects of the LER operational process including intake, review and research for data provision, assurance and legal review for all data, in addition to communicating directly with LEAs. Your role will drive build out of LER capabilities for new Kuiper legal entities, countries, and jurisdictions in support of the Kuiper business strategy and expansion priorities.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Security, Computer Science, Risk Management, Engineering, Math, Statistics, or a related discipline, or equivalent technology experience
- 5+ years of program management, project management or product management experience
- Experience in making and/or responding to law enforcement requests
- Security industry experience responsible for complex compliance requirements
- Prior experience managing Lawful Intercept requests
- Must hold or be capable of attaining Australian national defense security clearances for this role.

- Experience in security management in a multi-location global corporate environment
- Excellent ability to build strong relationships with internal and external clients and customers
- Additional language proficiency preferred
