New Acland Coal (NAC) is expanding, and we’re looking for entry‑level and experienced Production Operators.

NAC is a thin seam open cut mining operation that is owned and managed by New Hope Group. NAC is based 35km north-west of Toowoomba.

About the role:

Working a 7/7 day / night rotating roster and reporting to the Mining Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe, productive, and efficient operation of heavy-mobile equipment. The fleet includes:

·      Hitachi EX3600 & EX5600 excavators

·      CAT D10 & D11 dozers

·      LeTourneau 1150 & 1350 loaders

·      CAT 992 & 993 loaders

·      CAT 785, 789 & 793 trucks

·      CAT 16H & 24H/M graders

No previous mining experience is required – we welcome local candidates who are enthusiastic, motivated, and willing to learn about a successful career in the mining industry. Production Operators play a key role in ensuring coal is produced and delivered safely and on schedule.

To be successful in this role, it is important that you have:

• Experience operating heavy earthmoving equipment or a willingness to learn
• A strong safety mindset with ability to actively identify and report hazards/incidents
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to speak up when necessary
• Enthusiasm to positively contribute to site culture and work as a team
• High attention to detail and precision in executing tasks
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Ability to undergo and pass a coal board medical
• Ability to work a rotating 7/7 day / night roster including weekends and night shift
• The ability to contribute to and work as part of team in a fast-paced environment
