We are seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to join ACOR and establish a brand-new Civil Engineering team in Melbourne, creating a strong Victorian presence while leveraging the expertise and support of our established national Civil team. This is a unique leadership opportunity to build a team from the ground up, shape the future direction of our Victorian Civil capability and play a key role in ACOR's continued growth.

Combining people leadership, business development and hands-on project delivery, you will lead the establishment and growth of the Melbourne team, develop client relationships and deliver complex projects across sectors including defence, health, government, mission critical and industrial developments.

You will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing team, expanding ACOR's market presence in Victoria and driving sustainable business growth, while remaining actively involved in delivering high-quality engineering outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing Civil team, driving engagement, capability uplift and alignment with ACOR’s national standards and culture
  • Drive business development by building strong client relationships and securing new project opportunities across target sectors
  • Lead and contribute to the delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary Civil projects, ensuring high-quality, compliant and commercially successful outcomes
  • Oversee project performance, resourcing and risk management, supporting strong commercial outcomes across the project portfolio
  • Support the growth of VIC capability through strategic input, planning and continuous improvement of systems, processes and delivery practices

Requirements

  • Degree qualified Civil Engineer with CPEng (or working towards) and demonstrated experience delivering complex projects from concept through to delivery
  • Proven experience in leading and developing teams, including coaching, performance management and building high-performing cultures
  • Strong business development capability, with a track record of building client relationships and winning work
  • Strong technical expertise in Civil engineering design and project delivery, including multi-disciplinary project exposure
  • Commercial acumen with a strong understanding of project performance, utilisation and financial outcomes
