What’s on offer?

We are seeking an experienced Combination Machine Operator to join our Fulton Hogan Utilities team, to support in delivering a diverse range of multidisciplinary projects across Southeast Queensland.

In this role you’ll be responsible for:

  • Operating excavators, skid steer loaders and other civil plant safely and efficiently to support water and wastewater construction and maintenance works
  • Performing trenching, backfilling, service installation and excavation around live services
  • Conducting pre-start checks, daily inspections, and basic maintenance to ensure plant remains in safe working order
  • Supporting crews with vacuum excavation works (Vac Truck experience highly regarded)
  • Assisting with general civil labouring and site duties as required
  • Working flexibly across tasks – this role requires versatility and the willingness to step out of the machine to support the team where needed
  • Maintaining accurate plant records and promptly reporting hazards, incidents, or equipment faults.

How you’ll connect to the role:

  • Current Excavator (RII) competency with demonstrated experience (Skid steer experience highly regarded)
  • HC Licence preferred (HR minimum required), Vac Truck experience (RII competency) highly regarded
  • Proven experience operating plant in a civil, utilities, or infrastructure environment and Construction industry White Card
  • Strong safety focus and ability to work around live services and within exclusion zones
  • Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to changing site priorities and willingness to undertake a wide range of duties on and off plant and equipment
