Leed is a privately-owned Australian civil contractor delivering projects in metropolitan, regional and remote areas of Australia. We have over 350 staff with offices and workshops in Adelaide, Bendigo, Cooma and Melbourne. We contribute to some of Australia’s largest sustainable energy projects, and deliver reliable, safe water infrastructure and road projects that serve communities around the country. We are known for our specialist expertise in the construction of water treatment plants, water storages including dams and reservoirs, pump stations, pipelines, roads, bulk earthworks and structural concrete.

We are seeking Pipelayers to join our dynamic team, as we embark on an exciting period of growth and transformation – supporting some of South Australia’s leading civil infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Excavate and prepare trenches to correct depth, grade, and width per engineering drawings.
  • Install PVC, ductile iron, HDPE, and concrete pipe to alignment and grade using laser equipment.
  • Carry out bedding, backfill, and compaction to required standards.
  • Read and interpret civil engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Assist with hydrostatic pressure testing, flushing, and disinfection of mains.
  • Fit valves, bends, tees, couplings, pits, and access chambers.
  • Work safely within live traffic environments in accordance with approved TMPs.
  • Operate pipe cutting, joining, and compaction equipment.

About You:

  • Hands-on background in civil construction, pipeline installation, or utilities works.
  • Current White Card required; HR/MR license, excavator ticket, or confined space certifications highly regarded.
  • Active participation in pre-starts, adherence to SWMS and WHS obligations.
  • Punctual, supportive of crewmates, takes direction from leading hands.
  • High attention to detail, with a proactive and collaborative mindset.
  • Able to problem-solve when ground conditions or site circumstances change.
