The Opportunity

Based in the Pilbara region, on a 2:2 FIFO roster from Perth, the Operations Supervisor is accountable for the supervision of Waste Driver / Operators, daily task allocations and work activities, including maintaining vehicle fleet documentation, client and other contractor liaison, and prioritising work efforts. This is a higher tempo environment, but with much autonomy and scope for initiative and the use of an effective leadership style.  

Associated tasks include:

• Work collaboratively with the Branch Manager on Health & Safety, employee engagement and positive team morale
• Maximise customer service and operational efficiency through effective supervision and leadership
• Manage and resolve day-to-day employee issues and workplace conflicts, escalating HR matters to the appropriate manager where required
• Investigate and report customer complaints to management in accordance with company requirements
• Ensure employees complete pre-start and post-run checks and address any issues identified
• Action equipment maintenance and servicing requirements identified through scheduled maintenance, pre-start and post-run checks
• Order parts and PPE as required to support safe and efficient operations

About You

Our ideal candidate will be an experienced supervisor, confident in tasking others and overseeing personnel in a positive and supportive style, ideally within the Energy & Resources or Waste Management sectors, with exceptional interpersonal skills. Proven leadership is the key element, as waste knowledge will be provided to the successful applicant if not from a waste background.  

• A HR Licence is mandatory
• 3+ year's experience in a similar supervisory role
• Experience managing conflict and resolving employee-related issues
• Understanding and experience managing HR-related matters
• Computer confidence and strong IT literacy
• A Dangerous Goods by Sea course is beneficial, but can be provided to the successful applicant
