ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Distribution Centre Manager, the Operations Manager – Retail is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations within the Retail Department and ensuring ongoing performance against business objectives.

This role is a full time, 12 month contract role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage warehouse operations across forklift activity, putaway, order assembly, and despatch to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate performance

  • Plan, allocate, and prioritise team workloads while maintaining adequate staffing coverage

  • Monitor and drive team performance using KPIs, ensuring productivity, accuracy, and DIFOT targets are achieved

  • Oversee inbound and outbound workflows, including receipts, replenishment, putaway, and despatch timelines

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth daily operations and timely order fulfilment

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise processes, productivity, and stock accuracy

  • Ensure labour, equipment, and materials are effectively managed to meet operational requirements

  • Support team leadership through coaching, training, and fostering a positive, high-performing team culture

  • Maintain compliance with safety standards, operational procedures, and reporting requirements

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE 

  • Demonstrated DC Zone Management Experience
  • Experience in managing a DC team of 10 or more employees
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience in Manhattan Scale WMS or similar system
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Desktop Applications
  • Tertiary qualification in warehouse management desirable
