Redpath Australia is seeking an experienced Mining Engineer to join our operations at the Federation Mine in New South Wales. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing underground operation while contributing to the planning, execution and optimisation of mine development and production activities.



Responsibilities

About the Role

As a Mining Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting underground mining operations through mine planning, drill and blast design, scheduling and performance analysis. Working closely with operational and technical teams, you will help drive safe, efficient and productive mining outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain short and medium-term mine plans
  • Prepare development and production schedules
  • Design and review drill and blast plans
  • Monitor mining performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Ensure mining activities are conducted in accordance with the mine plan and budget requirements
  • Conduct ventilation, productivity and operational assessments as required
  • Liaise closely with underground supervisors, surveyors, geologists and management teams
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting and reporting activities
  • Maintain compliance with site safety standards, statutory requirements and company procedures
  • Contribute to operational improvement initiatives and technical projects


Qualifications

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or a related discipline
  • Previous underground hard rock mining experience
  • Experience with mine planning and scheduling software such as Deswik, MineSched or similar
  • Strong understanding of underground mine development and production processes
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to safety and operational excellence
  • Current Australian work rights
  • Ability to pass site medical and employment requirements
