Description

Wood delivers maintenance and turnaround services for the Ampol Lytton Refinery and is seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters for the upcoming mid-year FCCU shutdown. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, high-performing team working on a major refinery event, commencing at the beginning of June for approximately 8 weeks.

This short-term role offers strong EBA benefits and rates, all while allowing you to remain based at home. Penalty rates apply. 

As this is a Brisbane-based role, local applicants are preferred at this time, however, consideration will be given to those living outside of Southeast Queensland with the required skillset and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to work autonomously when required, while taking ownership of the role.


Qualifications
  • Flange management, hydrotesting, valve and pipe installation experience required
  • You will have proven maintenance experience in heavy industry environments
  • Previous Shutdown/T&I experience is a definite advantage
  • Trade qualified and working within a heavy industry environment for at least 5 years
  • You must have in-date current Working at Heights and Confined Space tickets to work on the Shutdown – validity 3 years from date of issue, not expiring before mid-August 2026
  • Must be available to pass a Wood medical, after providing the required certificates, safety tickets and driver’s licence to MyPass.
