As our workshop capability continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic or
Mechanical Fitter to join our team in Canning Vale.
This is a hands-on role servicing diesel powered generators, pumps, trailers and mine site equipment
supporting major operations across Western Australia.
About the Role
Reporting to the OSR (Off Site Repairs) Coordinator, you will carry out inspection, servicing, fault finding, repair and refurbishment work across a diverse fleet of diesel powered equipment.
You will work alongside our service, projects and quality teams to make sure every unit leaves the workshop tested, documented and ready for site.
This role offers a strong mix of:
- Diagnostics and fault finding
- Preventative and scheduled maintenance
- Mechanical overhauls and refurbishment
- Generator control system troubleshooting
- Trailer and braking system work
- Pre-delivery inspection and quality assurance testing
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel powered generators from 10kVA to 1250kVA
- Service and repair trailers, braking systems, suspension, air brakes, hubs, bearings
and towing equipment
- Complete engine, alternator and control system fault finding and repairs
- Carry out preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
- Perform mechanical overhauls and equipment refurbishments
- Complete pre-delivery inspections and quality assurance testing
- Read and interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams
- Complete service reports and job documentation to a high standard
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop environment
About You
We are looking for a qualified tradesperson who enjoys solving mechanical problems and takes pride in the quality of their work.
You will ideally bring:
- Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, Mechanical Fitter or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years post-trade experience
- Strong fault finding and diagnostic capability
- Experience servicing diesel engines and rotating equipment
- A current Australian driver’s licence
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and a safety focused approach
Highly regarded:
- Experience with diesel generators and mine-spec equipment
- Knowledge of Cummins, Perkins, Kubota, Volvo, Yanmar, Deutz, John Deere or CAT engines
- Experience with Deep Sea Electronics (DSE), ComAp or similar generator controllers
- Forklift, dogging, rigging or other high risk work licences
