We’re looking for a Marine Geotechnical Engineer to join our Geotechnics & Tunnels team, playing a key role in delivering complex, multidisciplinary marine investigations and supporting major port and coastal infrastructure clients.  You’ll combine practical and technical multidisciplinary experience to drive high-quality outcomes across marine environments.

The opportunity

In this role, you’ll be supporting delivery across a strong pipeline of marine, port-related projects in a multidisciplinary environment. You’ll take ownership of multidisciplinary marine investigations, from planning and approvals though to execution, interpretation, and design inputs, while maintaining close collaboration with clients and marine contractors.                                                                                                                                               

What you’ll be doing

  • Deliver multidisciplinary marine investigations for port and coastal clients
  • Plan and coordinate offshore site investigations, including vessel-based operations
  • Manage permits, approvals, and regulatory requirements for marine investigations
  • Interpret geotechnical data and contribute to marine design solutions (including channel alignment) 
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, supporting technical discussions and decision-making
  • Oversee project delivery, budgets, and timelines across multiple workstreams
  • Support and mentor team members, fostering strong technical capability

 

 

What you’ll bring

  • Experience in marine geology / geomorphology
  • Proven track record in multidisciplinary marine investigations and offshore operations
  • Experience managing projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams
  • Understanding of marine investigation methodologies and permitting processes
  • Proficiency in Leapfrog or similar geospatial/geotechnical software (desirable)
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage clients and stakeholders
  • Background in consulting or coastal projects within ports, dredging programs, and/or coastal environments
