Maintenance Technician – Fitter – Afternoon Shift

We’re looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our close-knit team and help us keep our packaging and processing equipment in top shape. You’ll work across a range of machinery, systems, and tools, no two days are the same.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Respond to equipment breakdowns quickly and confidently — troubleshoot, repair, and get production back on track.
• Carry out preventative and predictive maintenance to keep our equipment reliable and downtime low.
• Work on packaging and processing lines, performing mechanical and minor electrical work to optimise performance.
• Use computerised maintenance systems to plan, log, and track your work.
• Support production teams with machine changeovers and help train new staff.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects — suggesting smarter, safer, and more efficient ways to operate.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment.

What You’ll Bring

• A Fitter Trade Certificate (or similar qualification).
• Ideally experienced maintaining packaging or processing equipment.
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset — you like to fix things before they break.
• Strong communication skills and a genuine team spirit.
• The ability to prioritise and work independently when needed.

The Details

Your standard working hours are 38 per week. The current roster is 2:00pm to 10:00pm, with occasional Saturday work as required. At times, you may also be rostered onto alternative shifts, including a day shift starts or an afternoon shift finishing at 10:00pm. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you’ll be part of a supportive team that values collaboration, reliability, and craftsmanship.
