About this opportunity

The primary purpose of the Electrician is to provide production support on plant machinery, including breakdown troubleshooting, project implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is part of a maintenance team covering 24-hour operations, 5 days a week, with additional support for weekend production as required

Available shift: Morning 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Maintenance and Repair – Perform routine and corrective maintenance on electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and conveying systems, as well as key site services (e.g., compressors, chillers, boilers). Drive continuous improvement of maintenance processes and collaborate with production to minimise downtime while supporting safety, quality, and operational performance.
  • Installation – Carry out new installations of electrical systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and support OEMs during installation and commissioning activities.
  • Troubleshooting – Diagnose and resolve electrical faults to minimise downtime, including fault finding across PLC, SCADA, and IO systems. Conduct root cause analysis on critical failures and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Safety Compliance – Ensure all equipment and work practices meet Australian Safety Standards and site safety requirements, including conducting inspections, risk assessments, and adhering to safety protocols.
  • Documentation – Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all maintenance and installation activities, including parts usage and labour time.

 

Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

  • Experience as a Maintenance Electrician in manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs and automation systems
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and commitment to safety standards
  • Experience in FMCG or plastics (desirable)

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role with strong exposure to modern manufacturing automation
  • A grade Electrical License
  • Current Elevated Work Platform License (EWP) is required.
  • Skilled in electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on production equipment
  • Knowledgeable with PLC logic, SCADA, Siemens safety control logic, and Australian Safety Standards
