About the role

We have an excellent opportunity for a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our team.

In this role, you will work in a supportive environment where you will receive guidance and mentorship from experienced professionals.

What will you be doing?

  • Preparing pumping systems, pipework and valves, and other mechanical equipment designs for water industry projects in both networks and treatment plants.
  • Undertaking technical calculations and providing technical advice to Clients.
  • Preparing project specific detailed documentation, technical reports and design drawings.
  • Collaborating with other engineering disciplines to deliver multi-discipline projects.
  • Liaising with Clients, Contractors and other project stakeholders.

About You

We would like you to have a can-do attitude and bring a consultative approach, with the ability to prioritise your work and get things done—and to enjoy what you do, like we do.

Ideally, you will also possess the following:

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience working within an engineering consultancy or in a mechanical engineering design role for a contractor or asset owner.
  • A bachelor degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Working towards CPEng and RPEV status.
  • Previous experience in mechanical design in water and/or wastewater infrastructure.
  • AutoCAD drafting software experience preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Based in Melbourne.
