Based in Henderson the Fabricator/Welder will be responsible for delivering high‑quality welding and fabrication outcomes on time, in full and to standard, while actively contributing to continuous improvement across the workshop. 

This position supports a safe, tidy and productive work environment, ensuring both personal and team safety at all times.

What’s Involved

• Construct primary structures such as frames, keels, girders, and deck beams for vessels.
• Construct secondary structures such as walkways, handrails, equipment brackets and bases.
• Read and understand technical documents and workshop drawings.
• Adhere to the Austal Safety and Quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and productive work environment.

 

You’ll Need

 

The successful applicant will be a trade qualified Fabricator/Boilermaker/Sheet Metalworker or Vehicle Body Builder who has:

• Experience in aluminium and/or steel fabrication or MIG welding
• Construction White Card
• A positive and professional work ethic, taking pride in finished work.
• Be physically fit and comfortable working in confined spaces, as well as at heights.
