Your future role

 

We have an exciting opportunity available to take on this critical leadership position for our Services Product Line, as the Infrastructure Operations Manager for our Sydney Light Rail maintenance contract. Based at our facility in Randwick NSW and reporting to the Project Director, you will play a critical role in aligning operational delivery with strategic objectives, while enhancing  organisational efficiency. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a strong operator who thrives on improving systems, strengthening governance, driving measurable performance outcomes and ensuring operational discipline across the business. 

 

We’ll look to you for:

 

  • Operational Performance & Delivery - Leading operational efficiency and continuous improvement by executing strategy, monitoring SQCD performance, embedding disciplined ways of working, and ensuring safe, reliable operations through effective incident management and readiness for major works and system changes.
  • Leadership & Team Management - Leading and developing supervisors and technical teams, providing clear direction, performance management, and resource coordination while ensuring consistent compliance with maintenance standards and procedures.
  • Maintenance Planning & Delivery - Leading compliant, efficient maintenance planning and execution across rail assets, optimising access, systems and methodologies to improve asset reliability, availability and SQCD performance through disciplined data‑driven delivery.
  • Governance, Safety & Compliance - Leading risk, governance and assurance frameworks, ensuring full compliance with rail safety, EHS and workplace obligations through rigorous safety assurance, incident management and control of safety‑critical assets.
  • Stakeholder, Client & Contractor Management - Building strong internal and external relationships to support effective maintenance delivery, contract performance and customer satisfaction through clear representation, accountability and professional communication.

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to engage, influence and manage stakeholders across all levels.
  • An agile and proactive approach, with the demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Proven leadership of multi‑disciplinary infrastructure maintenance teams, ideally in a rail/light rail environment.
  • Strong command of maintenance planning & scheduling, isolations/permits, and field operations.
  • Expertise with ERP/CMMS and reporting tools (e.g., SAP, Maximo/Ellipse, Power BI; MS Project/Primavera).
  • Demonstrated capability in incident management, RCA (e.g., ICAM), risk management and safety assurance.
  • Experience in governance and board‑level reporting, with high standards of data integrity and controls.
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
